One Woman Farm CSA and How it Works.

CSA simply stands for Community Supported Agriculture.  This is how it works.  A One Woman Farm member pays in full for a membership or “share” in the farm before the harvest distributions begin in June 2013.   For 23 consecutive weeks, weather permitting, each member receives a share of the farm’s weekly harvest.  In this form of direct, mutually beneficial farmer-to-consumer relationship, both the farmer and One Woman Farm members share in the bounty, as well as the risks, associated with farming.

The benefits of OWF CSA membership are plentiful and various.  In return for your commitment to and interest in the farm, One Woman Farm is committed to providing you and your family with your local source of high quality organically grown fresh vegetables at a good value. With your membership, you will be joining the One Woman Farm community of like-minded "share-holders" actively sharing and participating in the support of local organically grown produce.

One Woman Farm CSA members are invited to attend farm tours in addition to both on-farm and off-farm seasonal dinners held at local partnering restaurants in Pittsburgh that showcase OWF produce.

What OWFers are Saying about our CSA:

..This was my first CSA ever and I absolutely loved it. All of the food I received was delicious, and even though I only had a half-share, covered at least 95% of my fresh veggie needs for the entire season! And I really eat a lot, so that's pretty awesome. I used this season to learn new cooking skills to use up all of those vegetables and had a blast. My freezer is full of pesto and tomatoes that I'll get to enjoy into the winter, and I still have some root vegetables to roast off for the holidays (those beets!). Truly, my OWF CSA was a really fantastic choice and I would HIGHLY recommend it to every person ever. - Lindsey Pogson

..Great staff, produce, community..what more can I say! We love OWF!

..Great experience!! I really felt that our family ate much more healthy food this summer/fall and was exposed to a much wider variety of vegetables.

..I have very much enjoyed your produce this first year I did a share and I am grateful for all the hard work you do to allow us to eat so very well during the summer.  - Linda Day
